The Kingdom of Bahrain is situated centrally on the southern shores of the
Middle Eastern Arabian Gulf between Saudi Arabia’s east coast and the Qatar peninsula.
The remarkable thing is that you can be in the desert with all of its beauty, and within 20 minutes, you can be travelling along roads surrounded by the greenery of farms. Alternatively, you can be browsing through old areas of either Muharraq & Manama souqs and within 20 minutes can be walking around modern shopping malls with hypermarkets catering for all of your modern shopping needs or browsing around a historic monument, and within 20 minutes, be driving down a highway surrounded by modern skyscrapers.
Bahrain is currently going through a massive building construction and expansion program, and some areas, particularly Juffair, and Seef, have been compared to building sites. This fact can be seen in several of the images.
The beauty, history, and modern development of Bahrain and its ability to absorb all of these contrasts and make them seemingly become transparent is a credit to both the wise Government and the people of Bahrain.

Bahrain has a marvelous multi-national mix of nationalities, all living harmonously together in a completely unique mix of cultures with Bahrainis being recognised as being the most friendly, helpful, and approachable nationals in the region while still retaining their traditional Arab courtesy and hospitality.
Bahrain is the site of one of the oldest civilization in the world and thought by some to be the site of the Garden of Eden. It has a history of 5,000 years of civilization and is a mixture of ancient and modern buildings with an increasing number of hi-rise buildings sharing the landscape with majestic mosques and architecture. It exudes an old-world charm, yet retains courtesy and dignity as befits a Kingdom whose history is steeped in tradition.
